Chimney Dropping

This chimney was no longer in use, so we decided to get rid of it to free up some space. It had already been dropped down to the height of the ceiling of the second floor, so removing it made sense. We think this chimney was used for a coal stove in the basement and/or the kitchen at some point.
BTW, this may have been the first time ever (ok, maybe the 2nd or 3rd) the subject of this photo has requested that his picture be taken. Someone is excited about the blog...
