One Year Anniversary of The Project

We had our first real snow of the season to celebrate our one year anniversary of Life in the Project. Yep, we closed on the house and moved in this same weekend last year. It was a winter wonderland outside when we woke up this morning. We are so festive. Nice wreath, eh? A family member very kindly made it for us.

All of the Trimmings

We utilized the guest worker program again this weekend to get trim up in our new bedroom and bathroom. Looks great. Just a few more finishing touches and these rooms will be ready! It's so exciting to have windowsills.

More Big Machines in the Neighborhood

About two months ago, a trunk of our neighbor's giant maple tree fell and crushed her garage. Luckily, only a few small branches hit our house. She was finally able to arrange for its removal last week. They brought a big crane down the street in front of her house and then swung it around back to get the tree out. Unfortunately, we had to go to work and missed all the excitement, but apparently there was some repelling involved.

Here are a couple more pictures of the master bath for those who are interested. Not quite cleaned up and put together yet. Minus the trim, lighting fixtures, and clawfoot tub, it's pretty much done. Yes, that is dark green paint on the walls.

A Shower, Color, and a Hearth

Some updates... We took showers in our new shower for the first time ever on Friday night. So exciting! Really, if you have had the pleasure of experiencing the shower that we have been using up until now, you would understand the excitement. We didn't even bother to move the building materials out of the bathroom. Well, now that it's November, we've been kicking it into high gear to get some projects done before winter sets in. Thank goodness for the warm weather we've been having. The hearth has been built for the pellet stove and 2.6 tons of pellets are on their way. The powder room is painted. I was very excited to paint it a bold color. And as of today, our new bedroom is painted. Surprisingly, it didn't take as long as we thought. Aren't you proud of us for using color?
